Every Interaction Matters!

Our CST sessions ALWAYS focus on discussions that invite opinions, ideas & feelings - they do not require memory of facts, (of course, they may include them by-the-by!).

In our discussions, we move away from the need for correct answers to factual questions towards being able to contribute something, anything meaningful and linked to our theme - Every opinion is valid.

By doing this we:

  • keep everyone feeling included and valued

  • reduce anxiety around offering contributions

  • keeps mental engagement and motivation to interact high

  • builds connection & self-esteem

  • reduces anxiety and heightens the keenness to return for another session

At Forget-me-not, our goal isn't factual correctness - it's connection. We encourage opportunity for free communication and expression around our weekly themes and validate all contributions - because contributions are harder to offer if you're concerned you've forgotten the answer...the feeling of belonging diminishes... isolation grows. BUT feeling your voice counts is encouraging and cognitive confidence can build and be retained.

In the world of dementia, every interaction matters.
